A Starlight Walk is a development of my "enchanted forest" idea. This time I found a completely new way of creating rich, colourful textures that are contained within the trunks and branches of the trees. There is so much detail to see when you look closely. The star, snow and reindeer all add to the idea of a fairy tale world of myth and magic.

A monotype (sometimes called a monoprint) is a unique printed painting. I use rollers and dabbers to spread out the ink then make marks with a cloth and other tools. I incorporate textured materials by impressing inked up wallpaper and fabric. There are several layers of colour that overlap one another. The shapes of the trees are made by printing over paper masks or stencils

This original hand made work of art is available mounted, backed and wrapped in cellophane. The mount is a double mount with a white inner and a pale cream outer window mount. It is carefully packed in a purpose built box with extra strong boards

Materials used:

Oil-based ink on Rives BFK cotton rag paper. Mounted with acid-free mount board.
