Artwork description:

Fabulous extra large teal seascape filled with large clouds and capturing the drama of the landscape and ocean colours we see off the coast of the Isle of Skye near my studio.

This large cloudscape is dramatic and unique, a once in a moment image of Natural majesty that lasted moments before it was gone forever. We get these enormous clouds rarely and mostly in February and March. Capturing an image of them is not easy and this one is made of four or five images together to capture the entire scene.

Printed at 48 x 32 inches with a 2 inches white border with the signature, title and edition number under the image for a total size of 52 x 36 inches. This is the perfect size for above a sofa and frames up beautifully.

I LOVE printing on beautiful papers. I have spent years trying and testing papers until I found paper that is just exquisite and works perfectly with my artwork. Your beautiful print will be printed here in my studio on Skye on beautiful thick fine art Canson Aquarelle paper which has a wonderful watercolour texture. This brings out the fabulous texture of the landscape in my work.

About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Arches-Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon.

This paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use.
