Though generally regarded by superstitious people as a bird of ill omen, insightful and mysterious, the raven has fascinated people from cultures worldwide for centuries and symbolizes wisdom, prophecy, transformation, and intelligence. It can also represent long-term success in love and finding devoted, faithful partners.
For the Vikings, ravens were a great symbol of wisdom, protection, and strength. They often gave warriors confidence in battle, so the raven symbol was usually included on flags and banners.
Viking ravens are perhaps some of the most influential animals in the culture, connected to the all-father, and most powerful of the Norse Gods, Odin.
