Original artwork description:

I just love seashells. Here is a lovely, mother of pearls. Just a quiet instant savoring the beauty and fullness of the present moment.

I find it fascinating that a jewel begins forming as an "irritant" particle of sand or organic matter enters the shell of an oyster and can't be extruded. The shell builds concentric rings of translucent calcium carbonate around this intrusion and layer by layer builds a beautiful pearl. The pearl evokes the grain of suffering that gathers to itself layers of matter, to reveal in time, as meaning, its pearly substance. In Persian mysticism, the pearl was considered a symbol of the immortal soul within the mortal body.

Painted after life, alla prima, using high quality oil paints on a gessoed canvas panel.

Signed on the front and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

IMPORTANT! Please note, the secondary image in the frame is shown only as a suggestion on how it would look framed and in context. This artwork is sold unframed.

The painting is carefully packed, sandwiched between two cardboard sheets and layered with bubble wrap to protect them and ensure the painting will reach you safely.

World Wide shipping takes around 10 days to arrive, depending on the destination.

Displayed image size of the painting can vary from the actual size.
