Growth is often painful and too slow. The people of my country are going through the painful process of growing toward mutual understanding and respect. I know that my fellow Americans of all races join me in praying for a peaceful resolution to our nation's problems. I offer this painting as my own personal prayer to that end, and it is based upon this verse from the Gospel of John 16:33: "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." This painting has been given a satin varnish for protection; hanging hardware is already installed.
