THE ART:
This painting is an original Pastel painting “A Perfect Lily”. It has an illustrative vibrant style of a white waterlily flower. This pastel painting was created after one of my first trips to the Botanical Gardens specifically to capture the waterlilies. The second pastel painting in this series, I have always been very fascinated with them as a subject matter and their beauty. Capturing the vast array of white petals and the nice shadows and highlights were fun for me and a challenge. I like to use very vibrant colors in my art. Each painting takes me many hours from start to finish to execute the level of detail and show the delicate textures in my work. I use soft and hard pastels and pastel pencils on grey Strathmore paper. Images showing it framed are just a suggestion on what to do when you receive my art and is for presentation purposes. Size may not always be depicted in what is represented. In order to keep my art in great condition it is important to frame with archival materials (mattes, backing board etc), keep out of direct sunlight, and frame with a UV glass. Colors of the original art may vary slightly on different monitors.

This painting is unframed. Painting is shipped either flat or rolled carefully for protection. One of a kind pastel painting handmade (not a print) original, colorful and detailed. I spent weeks perfecting details and textures.

THE ARTIST:
I am an artist specializing in flowers, portraits and landscapes. My artwork is very expressive with color and texture but also very detailed. I try to photograph interesting and sometimes odd angles and perspectives of flowers at closeup views. I have been creating art for my entire life, as long as I can remember, for over 40 years. I only recently have attempted to get my work out to the world to be viewed and is only recently available for purchase.

MATERIALS:
I use a mixture of soft and hard pastels (mostly soft), and pastel pencils on a toned grey Strathmore charcoal paper.
