I have been told that this piece never fails to induce a feeling of placidity, serenity, and overall well-being. A walk through the woods can be beautifully interrupted should you be so fortunate as to chance upon a still, mirror-like lake. The feeling is to ponder.

The painting is executed in a unique Spontaneous Texturism style – an innovative way of painting in thick oils with bright colors, fluid motion, and engaging texture - pioneered by the artist, Kenneth Halvorsen.
