This painting was inspired by a series of walks I took with my son during lockdown. The weather was cold and icy, and the colour palette all around us was of fresh, zingy greens, a wonderful lemony yellow light spilling through trees, and frozen water on top of grass that had trapped bubbles of air underneath. I treasured these simple little walks and the connection with my son they brought. During a difficult period, they were the bit of life that made the most sense. This painting serves as a reminder to treasure those small incidental, everyday moments that are actually what makes life meaningful in many ways.
