Whilst living in Hong Kong for many years, I was fascinated by the idea of the "thousand year old egg", eggs that are prepared in a particular way and are eaten in China. Of course the egg isn't a thousand years old even though it may have looked that way. In this painting there are not a million flowers but it feels as if there could be!
