History and present together. Japanese landscape. Drawing on paper 21x42 cm (~8.3x16.5 in). ORIGINAL picture.

This artwork has been inspired by Japan. It was created for the Sakura100 years contest in 2021.
I took several famous architectural objects of Japan and composed them together. I had an idea to unite both history and present.
Viewers visually come in through the Torii then pass the old Crow Castle and move across a traditional bridge to a modern city with it's highways and skyscrapers. And what is the Japanese landscape without Mount Fuji?!
One artwork can't include all interesting places of Japan unfortunately. I depictured "floating" torii gates in the city of Hatsukaichi, Matsumoto Castle ("Crow Castle"), Expressway in Osaka, Nakagin Capsule Hotel in Tokyio, Mode Gakuen Spiral Towers in Nakamura, Nagoya, Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building (Tochō), Cocoon Tower called Tokyo Mode Gakuen, Tokyo Tower.
