Original artwork description:

Inspired by a trip to Gigha on a beautiful day in summer. This little cottage is overlooking the sea and the Kintyre peninsula in the distance. The little white washed cottage with its red roof stands out against the deep blues of the sky and sea. Behind the house there is a little lochan,, such as can be found all over the Hebrides, set amidst the machair. The pond is home to a few water lilies and is surrounded by rushes, wild irises and wild orchids. The composition is continued on the edges and can be hung without framing if so desired.

Materials used:

stretched canvas and acrylic paint
