The only work I made of this genre available, I was working with the model who asked if she could bring her newly born child to the session. It made for good subject matter. I feel this work speaks something of the destiny of both that tender child and their life together. The child looks up to the mother, while the mother looks at the child but also through the child with expression that signals concern. Responsibility, care, a future uncertain....so many mothers in troubled parts of the world, no doubt know these feelings.
