I go down to the river often and immerse myself in its magical waters. The trees are all around me, holding me in serene blissful silence whist sparkles of light dance upon the surface. Sometimes the kingfisher shoots by me like a flash of blue, an experience which fills my heart with joy.

The background is created with several layers of acrylic and textured oil paint, with flashes of copper and gold leaf which give this painting depth and a beautiful glow. The kingfisher is painted with oils and fine brushes.
