Original artwork description:

This work is an conceptual art object. It consists of a gold-gilt aluminum disk attached to the white background of a box-type frame and a blue filter mounted on the front glass that closes the box. The filter is mounted a bit eccentrically so its axis does not match that of the gold-gilt disk. That allows one to look at the "golden" disk simultaneously through the filter and without it.
When one looks at the gold through the filter it looks just grey and loses its beautiful color.

The idea is that we all have our mental filters and look at the world through them and these filters prevent us from seeing the true colors of life.
