Out of all beautiful herons, it's impossible not to admire most of the gorgeous long lace feathers in the breeding attire of male Egrets, which form an openwork snow-white cape on their backs. To attract a female, the male Egret opens his aigrettes and crest, crouches and cracks his beak.
But the curious fact is that if the female approaches the male too quickly, she may be expelled. She is accepted by a male only if she shows patience. There is an explanation for this: female and male herons look no different. Therefore, the male, before being happy, must make sure that he has a young lady in front of him and not a competitor-rival.
In emblematics, a Heron is a symbol of curiosity, vigilance and calmness, it personifies delicacy (taking off does not muddy the waters).
