Original artwork description:

I came across this doorway in a narrow street - more of an alleyway, really - in the heart of the Marais. The Marais, like Soho in London, is becoming a bit over-gentrified, but there are still some characterful overlooked corners such as this. I sketched the doorway on the spot, and then worked up the painting when I was back in my studio in Oxford.

This painting is framed with a simple black wooden moulding.
