Original artwork description:
I have admired Clarice Cliff's work for a long time with her use of strong colours and patterns. Then the idea came to me to put fruit in a Clarice Cliff bowl. The fruit I built up in layers to get the marks and texture of the individual pieces. Tha background is a mixture of ultramarine violet and payne's grey again built up in layers which makes it dark but not black.
