With a semi abstract painting, where the artist is including a recognizable figure with pure abstract forms and color, the problem is always to mate the two in a way that makes both components compatible. Here I am using the female figure, and the text document as the recognizable elements, leading to the less definitive shapes and colors of the remaining parts of the painting….mostly the background. I have kept most of this painting within a pallet of warm, earthy colors.
A CERTAIN SADNESS is a one of a kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I have stayed with my usual pallet of warm “earthy” colors.
I only sell original work so there will only be one original. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.

This painting will be ready to hang, out of the box. It will be mounted on one inch thick foamboard with a two inch border all around. It will have a hanging strip on the back and I include a “monkey hook” for easy attachment to your wall. It can be on your wall within five minutes.
