Original artwork description:

My style of art has always been Abstract, I have always had the belief that if you can master the Abstract language then you can master any art style you choose. Up until the start of the 20th century art was taught by getting you to copy the Old Masters. I believe that now is the time to change things around and we should teach art by mastering the Abstract Language, after all, you could not write a book without knowing a language
This image is inspired by the period of 1900- 1940, the time that Abstract became a style on its own, revisiting this period and picking up the scraps and seeing if there were directions that were missed. Quite simply I have taken a step back in time and am finding my own path.
In this image, I was guided more by the errors that I made, than the errors of history. Hiding or getting around your errors is all part of the Abstract language. Aboriginal people always believed that making errors was the Gods talking to them. I certainly had the Gods with me on this creation.

Materials used:

Ink and soft pastels.
