This small painting packs a punch. It depicts the kirk yard at Collinton on a sunny morning. I found the church and village on my last visit to Edinburgh when I walked along the Water of Leith. It made me a little sad as this is where Robert Louis Stevenson came as a child, and was the well of his inspiration. My late father used to read me his tales, which are pure Scottish and full of romance and adventure. The work is a bit smaller than my usual works, and it is on a flat canvas board, making it ideal for home framing.
