Original artwork description:

This is a colourful semi-abstract and one of my most spontaneous works. I had some paints left from another painting and quickly applied them to the canvas with a brush. Large areas of horizontal colour are broken up by a few strong vertical brush strokes, giving a feeling of a clearing in a forest on a beautiful day. Later additional marks were added with a palette knife and finally I realised that the brown mark in the bottom right corner looked like a old peasant woman and added a green mark to indicate a load on her back.

It is a very happy and joyful painting. As it is quite small it would best suit an intimate space. It is ready to hang.

Acrylic paint brushed over canvas. Additional marks made with paint from a palette knife.
