Hummingbird nests look like a small cup about the size of a walnut shell. A mother hummingbird uses soft material like moss and lichen, cotton fluffs, bits of willows, soft plant pieces, dryer lint, and leaf hairs, all glued together with spider webs (source: World of ). In "A Baby Hummingbird in Its Nest", I was specially interested in capturing the softness of a little bird and its cozy nest.

Hahnemühle 425 gsm watercolor paper; Artist's quality watercolors (Schmincke; Winsor & Newton)
