This view reminiscent of a Hopper style painting, inspired me to paint this scene. It was in a back street in New York and the car door was open. I pondered why, there was an air of mystery about it. A lone figure is walking across the road added to the feeling of isolation. The buildings are half in shadow also giving a feeling of eerie stillness. This is showing the back streets of New York away from the glitz and limelight. So I captured this in photographs, a moment in time, and started painting it when I got back to my studio. I tried to convey this feeling I first had when I saw this scene. I have painted this artwork on a stretched canvas using oil and acrylics. The painting comes with a signed certificate of Authenticity and is ready to hang though you might choose to get it framed to get a more dramatic feeling.
