Moby Duck is one of the most loved characters in Le Moschine, a series of acrylic and colored pencil paintings inspired by old American cartoons of the 1920s and 1930s and by lowbrow and pop surrealist painting.
It is a work that blends irony and drama. The title plays on *Moby Dick*, turning him into a playful little duck, but details such as the bloody harpoons, scattered bones and skull interrupt the carefree atmosphere. This contrast between extravagance and suffering is recurrent in the characters of “Le Moschine”, creating a hidden sense of unease beneath the playful surface.


This version is mounted in a very beautiful vintage wood frame, gilded and decorated in relief.
