Original artwork description:

Quite recently I got into a discussion with a young man about the strident demands of women’s libbers. He’s concerned that women have gone too far and men now appear to be the underdogs. I can see his point… BUT … browsing through actual ads from the 60s I was horrified to see the blatant slants towards it being ‘a man’s world’ that were accepted without protest. I’m wondering what the new Duchess of Sussex would made of these genuine ads from the 60s making statements such as
“You mean a woman can open it?”
“Every girl should be married.”
And my particular favourite… a cigarette ad, tells men “Blow in her face and she’ll follow you anywhere.”

This woman stands strongly among a floating collage of ads from the day telling the 60s woman who she should be, fashion, fan mail and leisure pursuits opening up to women.

A perfect addition to slick MODERN décor, or for LOFT / WAREHOUSE themes spaces . Also comfortable in SCANDI styling or BOHO homes . At 101.6cm square (40” x 40”) this is a STATEMENT PIECE.

Materials used:

Your painting arrives ready to hang. The edges of your painting are painted which makes it suitable for hanging with or without framing. Your painting is fitted with D rings and wire. It is signed on the front and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
