After a very long dusty journey on a local bus packed with too many people, their livestock and any other supplies you can think of it was quite a change of scene when we got dropped off at a tiny town on the banks of the Mekong river. It seemed quite sleepy and we were lucky to catch a boat pretty much right away to take us to the island we were staying. Although the bus journey had been very entertaining and the people on the bus were very friendly it was a change from a bustling dusty chaos to total tranquillity when we got onto the boat and was gliding along the water with the warm evening sun in our faces. I thought this capture in many ways shows the feeling of total calm we felt bobbing along on the water in a traditional river boat.
