Original artwork description:

Any viewer of this image will assume that the actual painting of the picture was not technically difficult. Squashed squares in three basic colours. No big deal. Yes, it was time consuming. Yes, it was tedious. Yes, it literally gave the artist a pounding headache for days. Every squashed square was hand painted - no taping was involved - so getting every line straight involved mind numbing concentration. But, let's face it, it's not Rembrandt's The Night Watch. The most complicated part of the picture was the initial technical drawing. Get a measurement or angle slightly wrong at the start of the layout and by the time you extend the squares down the canvas the error gradually increases until you end up not with adjacent squashed squares but real squares, or worse, triangles. The overall 3D effect, however, is like no other in its basic simplicity. More impressive than ...well...The Night Watch even. The wiring on the back means it can be hung as landscape or portrait.
