The work consists of three paintings, one with a size 64 x 52 cm and two with a size of 52 x 64 cm..
The paintings were inspired mostly by the writings of Carl G. Jung that explore the alchemy and its references to the process of individuation that is the becoming one's true Self.
The first picture is Dissociatio (Latin for 'dissociation') and is about that moment when the old personality so to say "darkens", the purpose and direction in life get lost, a feeling of pointlessness dominates the situation, all previous reference points disappear. So this is a kind of descending in the underworld.
The second image is Integratio (Latin for 'integration') and refers to the moment of transformation of the "black matter", in other words, the unconscious personal contents become conscious and are reintegrated into the personality.
The third picture is titled Statu Nascendi (Latin for 'in state of birth') is about the moment when the new Self is born. The process is visualized by small vermilion sparks (Latin 'scintillae') on a deep green background that has the shape of a vegetative silhouette.
NOTES:
1. The work is shipped as three separate paintings, each stretched on its frame with its corresponding dimensions. The buyer could hang the paintings according to their own view. For this reason the final dimensions could vary slightly.
2. The light grey background is not part of the triptych but is only used to make the white painting well distinctive.
