I have been intrigued by old houses since I was a kid. I decided on a spring view for the scene of this old Greek Revival Style house. My grandparents lived in a different style Greek Revival home with a similar entryway, with windows on each side of the front door. Theirs was set on a remote Midwestern farm, which I loved as a kid. From that early experience in life, I always knew that I wanted to live out in the country when I grew up! I paint in a series of many layers, to create my original, country landscape paintings. The gallery wrapped, sides of this 3/4 inch deep, stretched canvas are painted dark green to match, and this piece comes wired and ready to hang!

I hope that you will enjoy viewing my vision and glimpses of the quiet, old rural landscapes of the American heartland. Old farms, barns, cattle, sheep, meadows and big open skies, are often the inspiration for my art. I have been influenced by the old Barbizon, Tonalist, & Luminist painters for my original dreamscape, landscape paintings.

My work is in collections throughout the U.S. and abroad. I was happy to have had my art work shown in the "This Old House Magazine' and hung in their Cloudland Cottage show house in 2015. My paintings have been used as cover art on a classical CD by the "Wingra Quintet", and on several books: Praying with your Whole Heart, Three Ways of Loving God, and a lovely heritage cookbook by Cinagro Farms. An article about my original heartland landscape paintings was on the online Art Magazine "Empty Easel".
