Work number 1 in a series about "A million red roses". The love story of the Georgian artist Niko Pirosmani for the French actress Margarita de Sevres because of which he completely went bankrupt. The artist saw the actress performing in a tavern and immediately fell in love. But Margarita rejected him. When day after day they brought huge bouquets of flowers to her, she thought that the rich man was in love with her. She could not even think that it was a thin, haggard, not rich artist, who of course did not interest her. And even the widest gesture - the huge number of flowers that Nico Pirosmani sent Margarita on his own birthday, did not melt her heart.
