The Outwin 2016: American Portraiture Today
Where: 1701 Pacific Avenue Tacoma, WA 98402
When: 4th February to 14th May
Every three years, the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery invites artists to take part in the juried Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition. Now in its fourth year, 43 artists were selected from more than 2,500 entries, and Thu Nguyen is one of them.
For the first time ever, the exhibition is touring, and the Tacoma Art Museum is the first museum to host The Outwin 2016: American Portraiture Today, and will be the only West Coast venue.

Stjepan Perkovic
Visions of the inner garden
Where: Europe House, Jurišićeva 1/1, 10000 Zagreb
When: 10th February to 9th March
Europe House Zagreb is presenting a solo exhibition of works by Stjepan Perkovic.
Stjepan creates poetic paintings that focus on the study of nature, deserted landscapes and religion. He has an ongoing desire to make the viewer stop for a moment, and immerse themselves in natural elements that surround us everyday.

The Talented Art Fair

Ekaterina Abramova
Russia Art Month
Where: Art Hub, Mussafah, Abu Dhabi, UAE
When: 25th February to 10th March
After a month-long residency program at the Art Hub, Ekaterina is participating in a group show that celebrates cross-cultural artistic exchanges and showcases the work created during her stay. This residency serves as a platform for artists across the world to come together and live, create and exhibit.

Gabriel Böhmer
In A Room
Where: The Edinburgh Gallery, 20a Dundas St, EH3 6HZ
When: 4th March to 25th March
After a six-month residency at the Edinburgh Gallery , Gabriel Böhmer will display his largest exhibition at the gallery to date. The show will include work from his animated short film, which was recently featured in Dezeen.
"'In A Room' explores a set of rotating characters in unusual situations. The collection playfully jumps between existential questions and ordinary occurrences. While one piece focuses on music being played too loudly, another wanders off and considers nihilistic bears."

Lena Smirnova
Winter exhibition
Where: Art Gallery Søndergade 3, 5000 Odense, Denmark
When: 4th March to 8th April
Lena Smirnova is taking part in a group show at the Kunstgalleriet in Odense, making it the perfect visit for Hans Christian Andersen fans and art enthusiasts.

Warren Keating
Giving Voice to Image 5
Where: Vivo Contemporary, Canyon Road, Santa Fe, NM 87501, United States
When: 15th March to 16th May
VIVO Contemporary artists are collaborating with a group of local poets, giving poetic voice to artistic image. This collaboration draws attention to two artistic disciplines that too often remain separate. ‘Giving Voice To Image 5’ features work from Warren Keating, whose latest series ‘Overview’ has his signature ‘Pixel Impressionism’, which captures unsuspecting figures.
