We’re certain you’re all aware and are following the news on the COVID-19 pandemic. We deeply empathise with those of you directly affected by the virus, and the lockdowns that are being put in place in an increasing number of countries from China to Italy and Spain.
Today, I wanted to share with you our plans to ensure the Artfinder platform remains fully open for business over the coming weeks and months.
Artfinder’s world of art remains open
In the uncertain world of lockdowns and quarantines, deliveries continue mostly unaffected, including in countries like the UK and the US. Many courier companies implemented contingency plans early on and we’re confident that any artwork ordered on Artfinder will reach customers, although for some destinations shipments may be subject to a delay (e.g. Italy, Spain, France). We continue to monitor the situation and will be updating our Knowledge Base page with relevant information.
100% money-back guarantee and more flexible returns
All Artfinder orders are subject to a 100% money-back guarantee. If your order is affected by a significant delay, our artists and Customer Care team will work with you to put this right. If the artwork cannot reach you for whatever reason we will refund you in full, including the shipping cost.
We have also reviewed our returns policy and are making our internal process even more flexible. Specifically, if you’re unable to ship back your work due to local restrictions, no problem. All we ask is that you get in touch with us within the 14-day returns period and we will work with you to find the next possible slot to ship the artwork back to the artist.
We’re supporting artists affected by art fair cancellations
With so many physical art fairs now cancelled or postponed, many artists are deeply affected by a loss of exposure and sales. We will therefore offer free promotional placements on our site to all artists affected, at our team’s discretion. We hope this goes some way to offsetting the losses those artists have suffered due to unfolding events.
Our team is now working remotely
The Artfinder team is currently well — since Thursday 12th March we have been working remotely as a precautionary measure. We plan for this to last a minimum of two weeks. The beauty of being an online platform means that this will have no effect on the day-to-day operations of the business.
Independent artists need your support
Online sales are one of the most important lifelines for many of our artists. ‘Micro-sellers’, as they are sometimes referred to, depend on continued custom from art lovers and customers. I hope you join us in supporting our incredible community at this difficult time.
With health authorities, governments and organisations working tirelessly to control this pandemic, our artists continue to create beautiful artwork. Artwork that has the power to inspire us all, bring joy and hope to our lives. Qualities we all so desperately need, especially at this difficult time.
On behalf of all of the Artfinder community, we thank you for your continued support.
Take care,
Michal, CEO of Artfinder
