About Yuriy Ivashkevych

  • Biography
If I look back I always see myself with a sheet of paper and a pencil in my hand. I'm not sure if that was because I liked it or because of something else. Years later my art teacher awakened in me the desire to create. Long drawing and painting lessons helped me acquire professionalism.
Human beings have been created with the ability to see beauty in everything, and I try to use this capacity in each work. The main theme of my creative work is the human being. His sorrows and joys and everything that surrounds him were of artistic interest for centuries. Working in this way makes me happy, and I hope to be able to convey this feeling to the people who see my works. In making my works I use both graphite and charcoal, because they are easy to handle materials. In the same way to make some illustrations ink and watercolor use, although they are more complicated materials, they contribute to each work its personality and its beauty.  Since I was a child I have been instructed by a Russian classical school art teacher. The artistic movements "Society for Traveling Art Exhibitions " (Передвижники) -Repin, Serov, Vrubel, Kramskoy ...and later “Art World “ ( Мир искусства )Benua , Somov ,Serebryakova..., have greatly influenced my way of drawing and painting. That is why until today I follow the principles of these groups of painters.
