Biography
My name is Yuriy Prisyaznyi. I am a watercolor painter who studies our world through graphic mediums. The creation of any piece of art takes time and experience, and the art that I present is the result of my studies and everyday sketching work on improving my skills.
My main interest is working with our reality: streets, people, stories, and personalities. For my work, I usually use the format of a quarter of a watercolor sheet, which is 27x37 cm. I choose this format because I myself love and actively collect small chamber watercolors; they are perfect for cozy interiors and are convenient to transport.
My interest and development in art wasn't something that happened suddenly; it was a steady process that took years of work, searches, and self-improvement. The first was a studio of Oleg Synelnikov (1998–2002); later, it was courses at Charkiv's national university of architecture and the art studio of Svetlana Nenazhenko. I participated in many projects and exhibitions in Ukraine as well as internationally. My works are already in private collections in Ireland, USA, Ukraine, Germany, etc. And in 2019, I became a member of the National Association of Artists of Ukraine. Today I live in Germany and continue to create my watercolors.
