Event: Last summer
Dates: 11 Jan 2024 - 6 Feb 2024
Last Summer" is a series of works that explore the theme of our memories. The title doesn't imply that it's actually the last summer, but rather signifies that each subsequent summer will never be the same as the ones before.
My works are executed in shades of turquoise and red, creating a negative film-like atmosphere, as that is how we perceive our memories. If we compare a photographic negative with a complete memory, the negative represents how we remember moments – fragments and unfinished images, with emphasis on the colors we choose to highlight.
This series of works speaks to each of us, rather than a specific individual. It conveys a subtle melancholy and emotions that we enjoy savoring and recalling.
I hope that my works will allow you to remember and experience all those unforgettable moments we have during the summer.

Gigantic, milky-wide skies; majestic cliffs, ridges and valleys. Sharp contrasts permeate her works. With an exceptional feeling for the nature of light, Yuliya Stratovich creates atmospheres that captivate the viewer. She creates leaden, stormy horizons and gentle, redeeming dawns with light just gathering.
One can still sense the force and rushed movement, with which Yuliya Stratovich brings the strokes of her spatula on the canvas. This vigor and whirl of raw colour is captured and held in the massiveness and sharpness of the landscapes.
Occasionally, a person appears in the composition of her scenery and offers the viewer the opportunity to come to rest in the expanse of her images. At the same time, it draws you deeper into the icy landscape of the north, opening up new dimensions.
Biography
I grew up in a family of artists. I have been drawing since childhood. Since 2017 I have been actively exhibiting in Belarus and Europe. In 2018 I moved to Warsaw, participated in auctions of young art and cooperated with such galleries as Xanadu, Artinfo, Glaza, Agraart, Rempex, Vinci Art gallery. In 2020, I opened a gallery in the downtown of Warsaw "Poznańska 24" where I exhibited not only my own art works, but also works by other Belarusian and Ukrainian artists: Rufina Bazlova, Anastasia Rydlevskaya, Maxim Osipov, Vladislav Kufko, Olena Horchol, Patricia Moskalevich, Karolina Polyakova, Daria Buben.
In my gallery, I organized lectures about art and architecture for Belarusian and Ukrainian citizens, with the aim of integrating them into Polish culture and urban space.
In May 2022, I closed my gallery because of political insecurity, and moved to Tenerife, where I lived and worked for one year.
In the spring of 2023 I won the Gaude Polonia scholarship with my art project about the port, on which I am working right now.
