About Yuliia Chaika

  • Biography

I am a visual artist born and raised in Kyiv,Ukraine. I have been living in Spain since 2020, from the moment I ended up there during quarantine due to the covid 19.

In Ukraine, I`ve got a professional education and had the experience to work in the main Christian church of Ukraine as a master of icon painting, that allowed me to get acquainted with all the subtleties of Byzantine art. This fact of my biography greatly influenced my creative method of creating my own works, namely bringing elements of building composition and the technique of creating the Byzantine painting.

Despite the fact that the figures of my works are quite well outlined, they seem to be shown through the canvas of the ornament, which creates the magical effect of an old fresco that has come down to us through the centuries.

My paintings are presented in different private collections around the world, including Ukraine, UK, USA, Spain, Canada, Italy….
