Biography
I'm full-time artist. I have been painting in watercolors every day for 6 years.
In the past I worked as a journalist and wrote about artists. Then I worked at the Museum of Nicholas Roerich, where I finally realized the need to follow my childhood dream and pick up the brush again. Now painting is my main occupation in life.
I chose watercolor for its spontaneity, lightness and naturalness. Watercolor is my cup of tea, my high spirit. Controlling watercolor is almost impossible. You can only agree with watercolors. From time to time I take lessons from professional artists, which I wrote about as a journalist. I am studying academic drawing. As for painting, I prefer to use my own style in my works.
I am an emotional person. My job is a declaration of love for life, as well as my consolation. I paint everything that delights and fascinates me.
First I painted flowers because involved myself into floristic design. I made sketches of flowers during my two-year studies in the International School of floristic design "Nicole".
Except of flowers I’ve always had passion for animals. Therefore, I’ve found it equally interesting to contemplate not only how light playfully settles on gorgeous lion’s mane in the zoo but also how street cat’s hair reflects light when it lazily sprawl on the porch. An irresistible desire to depict animals in watercolor has driven me to greenly pasturelands, rural stables, and unique conservations where I could observe diverse animals in their natural habitats. Some of my paintings were sold to zoos.
I am also extremely keen on landscapes and often catch a moment to make a sketch in my pad with intention to further develop it into a grand watercolor painting, which then will perfectly suit the interior.
