Biography
IOROI is a Japanese urban/contemporary artist based in Shizuoka, JP. She produces three-dimensional pieces that incorporate words as a representation of psychology and human behavior. Building upon the universal impulse to begin reading when presented with a text, her works ask questions our perceptions of self. It could be a situation we find ourselves or an unconscious way of thinking that needs to be addressed. It is an important element in her work to use the words to provoke connecting with something beyond words.
1980 Born in Shizuoka Japan.
2001 Study abroad in L.A for 2 years.
2007 Graduated from Tokyo Asagaya Art College, School of Image Creation.
