BIOGRAPHY

Yana Medow is an artist based in Madrid.
Graduated from the Academy of Applied Arts named after V. Mukhina of Saint Petersburg, specialized as a Painting Restorer.
Worked as a restorer, later as a graphic designer and illustrator.
Since 2017, positioned as a full-time artist.

STATEMENT

Yana Medow identifies the aesthetic direction of her oeuvre as figurative and primitive. She depicts people with exaggerated body proportions. This stylistic choice is driven by the goal of expressing the human body's universal grace, along with the comical naivety of human ideas, concepts, and thoughts. The bright, almost luminescent color combinations contribute to the artworks' lighthearted mood.
