NATALIA YAMPOLSKAIA
"THE STORY OF EVE"
Curator of the exhibition: Ekaterina Bulipopova
Natalia Yampolskaia's solo exhibition "The Story of Eve" is dedicated to the study of the depth, drama and ambivalence of the archetypal image of primordial femininity from a woman's point of view. The exhibition presents the author's felt panels and abstract paintings.
Who is Eve in the history of our culture? The source of sin, the cause of all human troubles, a lower being... or a courageous person who challenged the deity and decided to independently understand the essence of Good, Evil and life itself? The ancient titan Prometheus in a situation similar to the biblical story of Eve is still considered a noble rebel, humanist and defender of people. What is Eve's guilt before humanity then? And is there anything in this image other than forbidden temptation, guilt and shame?
