About Viktória Salgó

Engaging with abstract art provides an excellent platform for dealing with internal conflicts in an intangible manner. In the process of painting, the act of self-transfer is crucial to me, teaching me how to let go of internal control. The strongly horizontal compositions can be mere shapes, surfaces, and colors, but sometimes they become pseudo landscapes on which I can gaze into an imaginary horizon. I live in a hilly landscape, but I always yearn for the seaside, perhaps both are present in my art. I work with acrylic paint, but sometimes I also use oil paint or oil pastel on the canvas.

My art is closely related to my music, which is another means of self-expression, telling the story of the same inner landscapes I paint on my paintings.
