About Vicki Washbourne

  • Biography
I have sketched for the last few years nearly every day, anything and everything. Several sketch books later I ventured into painting with watercolour. It is not the most forgiving medium but rewarding when you manage to get the luminosity shining through. Recently I have been painting outdoors in front of the subject ,my intention is always to try and capture the mood of the place. My preferred subject is landscape, preferably with a barn or old tractors so I can have a focal point. My favourite artist is Edward Wesson,a loose style where every brush stroke has been considered. I paint mostly wet in wet and try to have only a few hard edges.
