About Vered Brett

  • Biography
Hi, I'm an abstract painter that finally found her life purpose in abstract art. Creating art means absolute freedom for me, which is something I've been searching for most of my life. Painting abstract is also one of the best ways I've discovered to dive inwards and heal myself. It drives me to want to inspire others to be fearless about life, to embrace authenticity, to learn valuable lessons that will empower them. I had no one to teach me to navigate through life, so if I can help even one person and add value to or inspire their life, that is my mission.

I live on the beautiful coastline of Cascais in Portugal and inspired daily by my environment - the gigantic blue Atlantic Ocean, golden sand and endless mighty rocks. But the more profound inspiration behind my work lies in the never-ending search for connection to myself, and a deeper understanding of my past in order to exist peacefully in the present. My view is that paintings are like mirrors, reflecting the soul of the viewer. No knowledge or skills are required. Simply to look and feel.

I use acrylic paint as my main medium and water (from the ocean as well) to dilute the paint and enable free flow, unpredictability, softness and calmness that are created through transparent and opaque layers. I incorporate mediums from nature like sand and leaves to add depth and texture to my work, making their beauty immortal.

    Event: Perfectly Unbalanced

    Dates: 15 Jun 2024 - 3 Jul 2024

    Venue: CNAP Gallery, Lisbon, Portugal

My solo exhibition in Lisbon was born out of the gallery finding me online in late 2023, contacting me to visit my studio which led to the owner buying 7 original paintings from me on the spot (!) and then offering me a solo show in mid 2024.

    Event: Whispers from the coast

    Dates: 8 Mar 2024 - 8 Apr 2024

    Venue: Ode winery, Cartaxo, Portugal

After a visit to this stunning new winery in the heart of Portugal, I was offered to do the first art exhibition in their space. The interior design of Ode is a perfect match with my art and it was not a difficult decision to make.
