Biography
I live on the beautiful coastline of Cascais in Portugal and inspired daily by my environment - the gigantic blue Atlantic Ocean, golden sand and endless mighty rocks. But the more profound inspiration behind my work lies in the never-ending search for connection to myself, and a deeper understanding of my past in order to exist peacefully in the present. My view is that paintings are like mirrors, reflecting the soul of the viewer. No knowledge or skills are required. Simply to look and feel.
I use acrylic paint as my main medium and water (from the ocean as well) to dilute the paint and enable free flow, unpredictability, softness and calmness that are created through transparent and opaque layers. I incorporate mediums from nature like sand and leaves to add depth and texture to my work, making their beauty immortal.
