About Vadims Pjatrikovs

Since the beginning of my artistic journey in 2005, I have been deeply engaged in exploring visual storytelling, initially through the medium of art photography. Photography played a crucial role in shaping my artistic voice, allowing me to capture and frame moments of both reality and imagination. However, my creative path has evolved, and I am now fully dedicated to painting, where I find the freedom to express a broader and more complex vision.

My work exists at the intersection of surrealism and abstraction, with nature serving as a recurring theme in many of my pieces. I am fascinated by the interplay between the organic world and the abstract, and my paintings often blend dreamlike compositions with non-representational forms, creating visual narratives that challenge the boundary between the real and the surreal.

Experimentation is key to my process. I enjoy mixing techniques and exploring various visual languages, whether it's through dynamic brushstrokes, layered textures, or unusual forms and shapes. This approach allows me to create art that is not confined to a single style, but instead flows freely between different expressions. Each piece is a journey of discovery, both for myself as the creator and for the viewer who engages with it.

Through my work, I aim to evoke curiosity, encouraging viewers to explore new perspectives and interpretations, and urging them to accept the existence of things they deem unreal.
