He founded the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood in 1848 with William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais.

Event: Painting World's End II

This is Invitational plein air event with silent auction to benefit The Trustees at World's End. Show of all creted plein air paintings will be on display throughout the month of June. This June exhibit will feature paintings from the World’s End Reservation in Hingham by many local and regional plein-air artists. In partnership with The Trustees at World's End, South Street Gallery again sponsoring a unique outdoor painting event. The event will span from Thursday June 1st to Saturday June 3rd at noon and will culminate with a silent auction Saturday evening June 3rd from 6 to 8 pm. Through a lottery, each artist was assigned a specific location on the World’s End peninsula at which the artist had to find inspiration. All participating artists will be painting in the World’s End Reservation during these three days only. Each artist was required to submit along with each painting a reference photo of the location and the view painted. The photo will be displayed next to the painting.

On Saturday, November 1st, 2014 the Attleboro Arts Museum presents its Annual Benefit Art Auction, the Museum’s largest fundraiser of the year. All proceeds from the Auction support the Museum’s community arts programs, exhibitions, operations, and Museum School art classes for all ages.

Now in its 23rd year, the Auction is a flagship event for the Museum. Donations of high quality art as well as specialty items – such as Diary of a Wimpy Kid author Jeff Kinney giving a personal tour of his soon-to-open children’s bookstore in Plainville, MA – fill the galleries, with bids starting at one-third the value of each piece. Guest auctioneer Chris Barber of Skinner, Inc. returns to the Museum and will be leading the evening’s live auction.
