Biography
Thanks to all of you who visit my works of art.
It is a predilection for spirit and patience, not haste, that guides my work.
I love observing the sea, the snow on distant mountains and clouds that pass over the mediaeval castle, which you can see from my panoramic study of Cagliari in Sardinia.
The variety of colours in the morning, the lights that change throughout the day and the shades of dusk are reflected in the variety of materials and techniques I use to paint.
I normally use oil, pastels and pencils, but sometimes also fresco and encausto. Each means has its own peculiarities: composition, persistence, scent, and all can give beautiful results.
In the past I have attended painting classes and I have read the books of Hogarth, Gombrich, Marangoni and Munari at length. I remember with joy the long days of exercise in copying the works of the imperial Roman era, from the frescoes of Pompeii to the portraits of Al Fayyum, and then of the Renaissance and Impressionism up to the more recent works of Morandi.
It is passion for art and curiosity in understanding how the great masters were able to create their wonderful works that have brought me this far.
I hope you enjoy my works, I have painted some that are interesting.
