About tom holland

After a life time of creativity and a professional portfolio of my work spanning the past seventeen years.  In 2012 I was lucky enough to open my own gallery the Tom Holland Gallery in Penryn Cornwall. This gallery space doubles up as my studio space as well, giving me the ideal space and wonderful north facing light to create my work. each painting taking  two to three days to paint.

my work is collected internationally and I have regular exhibitions in Galleries such as Gallery Tresco Isles of Scilly, Fowey River Gallery, Fowey, and the Lander Gallery, Truro.

my love and enthusiasm for my work has never been stronger. having grown as an artist throughout my life taking inspiration for my passion of colour, shape and form from the land which surrounds me. with images being stripped down to the ‘basics’. Never without my sketchbook or camera I make small studies and notes of my experiences whilst travelling around, then in my studio transferring the images to canvas.

The Isles of Scilly never fail to inspire me to paint. The constant change in the mood of the isles provides an ever-evolving palette of colours for me to work with. I can look at the same view over and over again yet I will always find new inspiration.

There is no other place I’d rather be. This is what I want to convey to the viewer, a wonderful feeling of peace, warmth and sun.

When packing my paintings for shipping I use lots of good quality bubble wrap and wrap in cardboard so very well protected. I use a company called Lamorna Express to courier all my work and have used them for the past ten years.
