About Tim Taylor

  • Biography

I was a contributor to the print and design industry for many years. After taking early retirement I paint professionally. My art is in private collections across the world and I have shown in galleries nationally.

I have been painting all my life. Landscapes are a favourite subject. Painting for many years concentrating on using watercolours, I now also use oils and acrylics. And the landscapes are now sometimes abstract.

The paintings are a response to breathtaking coastal locations and the beautiful surrounding countryside close to home. Thank you for looking at my paintings, they are all originals.

Figurative artworks are now included in my portfolio.

Event: EXHIBITION: “Landscape Watercolour Paintings, British Isles”.

    Dates: 13 Oct 2017 - 14 Nov 2017

Venue: COACH HOUSE GALLERY, Winterbourne House & Garden, 58 Edgbaston Park Road, Birmingham B15 2RT

    Featuring:-
    Midshires, England.
    Anglesey, Wales.
    Devon, England.

The artwork is a collection inspired by the natural world.
While on location; walking, sketching, painting and rambling the nearby countryside.

Many are created “en plein air”, others painted in the studio, from memories and sketches.

I always strive to create an air of spontaneity in the finished work.
This is helped by the use of mainly two brushes; a hake, to achieve a loose impressionistic style and a rigger for occasional finer detail.

Every week I walk the nearby peaceful countryside trying to memorise the scenery.

Some of the artwork is intuitive.

    Tim Taylor,
    Artist.
