About Tetiana Pchelnykova
Biography
Having graduated from the Institute of Design in Kyiv, I initially worked in the design and glass construction industry for over a decade. However, the pull of art was always within me. It wasn’t until later in life, after raising my children and facing personal challenges, that I fully embraced my calling as an artist. Painting became my way of reconnecting with the world, especially after the birth of my granddaughter in 2017, which marked a pivotal moment in my career. I found myself painting constantly, using my creativity to reflect on nature’s beauty and the strength of women throughout history.
My work engages in a dialogue with ancient myths, folklore, and ancestral wisdom, often focusing on the role of women as the bearers of knowledge and the strength of the family. I explore how a woman's intuitive understanding of nature and heritage can influence societal dynamics. Through my paintings, I seek to convey stories of resilience, harmony, and the deep connection between humanity and the natural world. My pieces often feature rich symbolism, blending traditional Ukrainian motifs with contemporary artistic techniques.
I have had the honor of exhibiting my works internationally. Some of my notable exhibitions include:
- 2023: Solo exhibition "Journey Through Time," Kyiv Academic Theater Wheel, Ukraine.
- 2023: Group exhibition "Photo and Art," MoDi Art and Wine Gallery, Kyiv, Ukraine.
- 2023: Group exhibition "Volunteers in the Battle for Life," Ljubljana, Slovenia.
- 2022: Group exhibition "In Ukraine / ZRC," Ljubljana, Slovenia.
- 2022: Group exhibition Artbox Projects 4.0 Swiiartexpo, Zurich, Switzerland.
- 2022: Group exhibition "Your Art," MoDi Art and Wine Gallery, Kyiv, Ukraine.
I am passionate about continuing to explore the themes of female identity, lineage, and the intrinsic bond between humans and nature. My paintings are not just aesthetic expressions; they are stories that invite viewers to reflect on their connection to the world. Through art, I aim to create a space for reflection, understanding, and transformation.
