    My studio in my home

    Against the backdrop of my creations that have emerged in my living space, I stand, immersed in the world of creativity and my own existence. My "studio" is the space within my apartment where I not only live but also work, where every drop of paint on the canvas reflects my emotions and thoughts. It has been two years since I felt the repercussions of the full-scale invasion of my native Ukraine. Now here, in the heart of Barcelona, I find solace and the opportunity to express myself through art.

Technical accuracy and a deep understanding of the human body’s plasticity will make you fall in love with the art of Ivan Pidhainy.     Opening 1.06.2023 of the Ukrainian collective exhibition in two halls of the Art Club @cercleartisticsantlluc. Many years ago, Picasso and Jean Miro painted here. It is an honor to be here. "463" is four hundred and sixty-three days since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the number that will arrive on the day of the exhibition's opening, June 1. The "+" symbol has two meanings: the unknown number of days the war will last during the exhibition, and the concept of "+18 to enter", which often indicates sensitive content. The theme of war includes all the ingredients of unacceptable or "sensitive content" - violence, murder, torture, brutality, aggression, dangerous acts, etc. - and means that the exhibition space is almost the only place where the horrors of war can be shown without censorship. The exhibition presents the works of various Ukrainian artists of different levels and status, both refugees and those who have been living in Catalonia for a long time. Most of the works presented at the exhibition reflect on the theme of war.

Thanks to Manuel and Vera, for the support and the wonderful space of the Port Gallery, for the help in organizing the exhibition. @portgallerybarcelona 💙 Representing a nation "Ukraine Exhibition" in Barcelona showcases some of the best modern Ukrainian art. Presenting a collection of one-of-a-kind artworks made by 14 Ukrainian artists, the “Ukraine Exhibition” at Port Gallery in Barcelona and will open its doors until September 14th. Curated by Manel Giménez, the exhibition displays an anthology of remarkable paintings and sculpture pieces. Words by Fernanda Russomano Spread across different European countries, all featured artists are representing their nation in this unique all-Ukrainian exhibition.
